Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Float)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as a float nurse, with unit assignments determined by the nursing supervisor based on staffing needs
• Float across a broad range of acute care units including medical, surgical, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, cardiac, vascular, pulmonary, trauma, and observation
• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care with patient ratios that typically average 1:6, varying according to unit need
• Document all patient care activities accurately using Cerner EMR
• Participate in every-other-weekend scheduling as required
• Complete onsite orientation modules as directed by the Nurse Educator

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or a valid compact multi-state RN license — must be in hand at time of submittal
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting
• Prior experience with Cerner EMR is required
• Pending licensure is not accepted
• 2 professional references required (may be pending at time of submittal)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience floating across multiple acute care specialties or working in a float pool environment
• Familiarity with a wide range of patient populations including medical, surgical, oncology, orthopedic, neurological, and cardiac patients
• First-time travelers will be considered
