Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 hours/week or 36/48 hours bi-weekly | Every other weekend required | Holidays required
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with patient ratios of 5–6:1
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips independently; telemetry monitor techs are on unit but RNs must be able to read strips
Manage and care for patients with common diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, CKD, and general med/surg telemetry conditions
Operate and monitor respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen devices
Float to all med/surg units and potentially to PCU to care for telemetry holds prior to patient transfer
Document patient care using the current Paragon charting system, with a transition to EPIC anticipated in October 2026
Required Qualifications
Active RN license with a minimum of 18 months of recent Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
Strong communication and time management skills
Ability to work a facility-driven schedule; block scheduling cannot be accommodated
Willingness to work every other weekend and required holidays
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience working in a rural hospital setting
Familiarity with Paragon or EPIC electronic health record systems
Experience caring for patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow oxygen therapy
