Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job TypeContract (13 or 26 weeks available) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Every Other Weekend Coverage
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a focus on stroke, TIA, and higher-acuity med-surg patient populations including adults and geriatrics
- Manage and monitor patients with diagnoses including stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
- Perform specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
- Maintain a strong focus on patient experience and quality outcomes throughout the care continuum
- Float to other units as needed based on census and demonstrated competencies
- Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a relevant clinical setting; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Ability to float to other units and campuses per facility need
- Must complete required pre-assignment testing and online modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience caring for stroke and TIA patient populations in an inpatient setting
- Familiarity with peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation procedures
- Previous travel nursing experience in a Med-Surg or Telemetry environment
