Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit, including patients with higher oxygen demands, dialysis needs, atrial fibrillation, and post-heart catheterization diagnoses
- Manage and monitor telemetry and step-down patients transitioning from ICU (no ventilator or pressor support required)
- Administer and monitor drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation
- Provide weekend coverage on a rotating basis, with flexibility based on unit need
- Float to other like units within the facility as required based on census needs, performing only tasks within demonstrated and documented competencies
- Complete required pre-assignment modules and testing within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
Required Qualifications- Active Tennessee RN license
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent hands-on experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry unit
- Minimum 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience caring for step-down or intermediate care patients
- Familiarity with cardiac drip management and telemetry monitoring
- Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers considered based on experience)
