Contract (13 or 26 weeks available) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Every Other Weekend Coverage
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a focus on stroke, TIA, and higher-acuity med-surg patient populations including adults and geriatrics
Manage and monitor patients with diagnoses including stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
Perform specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
Maintain a strong focus on patient experience and quality outcomes throughout the care continuum
Float to other units as needed based on census and demonstrated competencies
Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee
Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a relevant clinical setting; first-time travelers will not be considered
Minimum of 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR
Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Ability to float to other units and campuses per facility need
Must complete required pre-assignment testing and online modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience caring for stroke and TIA patient populations in an inpatient setting
Familiarity with peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation procedures
Previous travel nursing experience in a Med-Surg or Telemetry environment
