Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry
LocationMassena, NY
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit managing diagnoses including COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, chest pain rule-out, CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal
- Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via telemetry
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, and perform IV starts and maintenance
- Administer blood products and manage oxygen delivery modalities including BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and standard oxygen administration
- Participate in Rapid Response and Code Team activations as required
- Maintain strict isolation precautions and proper PPE use throughout patient care activities
Required Qualifications- Active, unencumbered New York State Registered Nurse license required at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR is a hard requirement
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Must not be a first-time traveler; prior travel nursing experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with non-invasive airway management including BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
- Familiarity with managing patients in substance withdrawal and seizure disorder protocols
- Demonstrated ability to float to other units as needed
