Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Massena, NY

Contract | Days (3x12 Hours, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with patient diagnoses including COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule-out
• Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via telemetry
• Manage vascular access including central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IVs; administer blood products as ordered
• Operate and maintain non-invasive respiratory support equipment including BiPAP/CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and standard oxygen delivery systems
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code Team activations as required
• Adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols; float to other units as needed

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Epic EMR proficiency is a hard requirement
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Ability to complete pre-start specialty modules (up to 5 billable hours)

• Experience managing patients with CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal
• Demonstrated competency with non-invasive airway management techniques and oxygen delivery systems
• Prior travel nursing experience with a strong compliance record and minimal requested time off
