Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float

Olympia, WA | Short Term Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Float across units to meet census and staffing needs, caring for a diverse patient population including ER-boarded patients, telemetry, and medical-surgical patients
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–1:6 depending on unit acuity
• Perform charge nurse duties as needed on designated smaller units, including managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general unit coordination
• Document accurately using the EPIC electronic health record system
• Collaborate with LPNs, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
• Participate in holiday coverage; expected to work 3 of the 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; experience must be obtained in the United States (Canadian experience alone does not qualify)
• Charge nurse experience is required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler (locals accepted at a different rate)
• Must be willing to float to sister facilities nearby the contracted location as needed
• 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in cardiac step-down or progressive care settings
• Prior experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records
• Experience in a float pool or multi-unit environment
