Contract (13 or 26 week options available) | Days, 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:00) | 36 or 48 hour per week options available | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced, 45-bed medical/surgical trauma unit serving hemodynamically and medically stable trauma patients
- Care for patients admitted from the emergency department, transferred from the ICU, or admitted from surgical/procedural services, addressing both acute and chronic needs
- Administer and manage IV drips as required across all floors
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
- Float within scope to other units and campuses as needed to meet facility staffing needs
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics, and LPNs where assigned
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska license required; pending license accepted if not yet in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system required
- Competency with IV drip management required
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center may be considered in lieu of standard traveler experience requirements
- Prior travel nursing experience in a high-acuity medical/surgical or trauma environment
- Familiarity with trauma patient populations and multi-specialty float assignments
