Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a general medical surgical and telemetry unit serving patients with conditions including total knee and hip replacements, complicated orthopedic cases, pulmonary, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses
Manage and monitor telemetry patients and administer drips as required on all floors
Perform weekly assessments, vital checks, and labs with the support of care techs and other clinicians as assigned
Float within scope to meet facility staffing needs across multiple units, including potential float to an additional campus
Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics, and LPNs where assigned
Required Qualifications
Active RN license (or pending Nebraska RN state license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience required, with experience in a large, urban hospital setting
BLS certification required
EPIC charting experience required
Ability and willingness to float frequently to various units to meet staffing needs
Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
ACLS certification preferred
CPI and NIH certifications preferred
Prior experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (considered in lieu of travel experience for first-time travelers with 2+ years at such a facility)
