Contract | Night Shift | 7PM–7:30AM | Expected 3 shifts/week | 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule | Holidays required based on unit needs | No on-call; standby response time of 30 minutes if placed on low-census standby

Key Responsibilities

• Float across multiple medical-surgical, telemetry, neuro, and observation units with patient ratios typically ranging from 1:3–6; float coverage may include Neuro Rehab, Surgical Landing Zone, ED Holds, and Zone 4, as well as satellite med-surg telemetry campuses with ratios of 1:4–5
• Provide nursing care across a high-acuity patient population including oncology, lung transplant, cardiac surgery, trauma, organ transplant, stroke, neuro, epilepsy, ENT, migraines, and cardiac observation
• Complete all reports at the bedside and perform a quality two-person skin assessment within the first four hours of each shift
• Perform sterile-field procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes; competency in maintaining sterile field is required and assessed during a pass/fail Day 1 SIMs Lab
• Receive unit assignments via a mobile texting platform (GroupMe) 30–60 minutes prior to shift; update department code with each unit clock-in and be present on the unit by 7PM for shift huddle
• Participate in lifts, restraints, and wound care education as part of orientation; complete 2–3 orientation shifts as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• Level I Trauma Center experience is required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg/Telemetry experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass a Basic Dysrhythmia Exam with a score of 80% or higher within 2 attempts prior to contract start
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Teaching hospital experience preferred given the complexity and acuity of the patient population
• NIHSS certification preferred but not required
• Comfort and competency with floating across multiple units and service lines without refusal
• Familiarity with GroupMe or similar mobile communication platforms for receiving shift assignments
