Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Expected 3 shifts/week; travelers are expected to work major holiday blocks as scheduled/needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:6 on a unit ranging from 20 to 34 beds
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and cardiac rhythms; apply dysrhythmia recognition skills in a fast-paced environment
• Care for post-operative and orthopedic patients in accordance with unit protocols and standards of practice
• Willingness to float to any Medical Surgical unit as needed
• Document patient care accurately using the facility's electronic health record system
• Maintain active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications throughout the duration of the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license (must be on file prior to submission)
• Minimum 2 years of current Medical Surgical experience
• Experience with post-operative patients — required
• Orthopedic nursing experience — required
• Telemetry experience — required
• Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia course — strongly required
• Active BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), ACLS (American Heart Association), and NIHSS certification — all must be in hand at time of profile submission; certifications will not be pended
• Willingness to float to any Medical Surgical unit
• Personal vehicle required for this assignment
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Meditech Expanse electronic health record system highly preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry setting
