Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 30-minute unpaid lunch | Schedules made 4 weeks in advance with self-scheduling (subject to manager balancing) | 2 weekends required per 4-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a combined Surgical/Neuro Telemetry unit (48 beds across two units) with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for a diverse patient population including COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetic, telemetry, TIA, CVA, and general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical patients
• Interpret and sign telemetry strips at least once per shift (remote monitoring supported by telemetry technicians)
• Administer and manage set-rate drips (e.g., Diltiazem at a set rate); titration of drips is not required
• Operate and monitor respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and administer breathing treatments as needed
• Float to alternate campus locations and potentially to PCU if qualified

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Arizona (or compact eligibility)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Ability to read and interpret basic telemetry strips
• Experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients, as well as CVA and TIA patient populations
• Must be prepared for a condensed unit orientation of 1 shift on the unit

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner EMR strongly recommended given the brief orientation period
• Prior experience in a combined surgical/neurological telemetry environment
• Familiarity with BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment
