    Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry

    Location

    Reno, Nevada

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (13 Weeks) | Travel | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 3x12-hour shifts | 36 guaranteed hours per week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients on a 38-bed telemetry unit, utilizing the full nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
    • Monitor and manage a patient population that includes CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, COVID, and post-procedure patients including pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and patients downgraded from ICU
    • Administer and manage non-titratable cardiac medication drips including Cardizem, Lasix, and Nitroglycerin
    • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members including Critical Care Techs, Advanced Care Techs, Rapid Response Team, phlebotomists, EKG technicians, and Respiratory Therapists
    • Float to other units including medical-surgical and intensive care units for telemetry or medically appropriate assignments, up to competency level
    • Maintain individualized patient outcomes across the full episode of care, incorporating family and caregiver involvement in care planning as appropriate
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Nevada RN license required prior to start date
    • Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
    • Must successfully pass a telemetry competency exam, including identification and measurement of rhythm strips
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association required
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification through APEX required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced acute care or trauma environment
    • Familiarity with post-procedure cardiac patient care including pacemakers, ablations, and open heart surgery step-down patients
    • Experience working with diverse patient acuity levels and adapting to variable nurse-to-patient ratios (1:4 to 1:6)
