Key Responsibilities
- Provide optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families.
- Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems while demonstrating cognitive and psychosocial competency specific to the patient population served.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythm strips, identifying and measuring findings in accordance with unit standards.
- Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with internal and external contacts to ensure continuity of care.
- Float to other units as needed, up to the nurse's competency level, to support organizational staffing needs.
- Maintain accountability for individualized patient outcomes across the entire episode of care, including comprehensive services to patients and their families or caregivers.
Required Qualifications
- Active Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to start date.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Must successfully pass a telemetry competency exam, including identifying and measuring telemetry rhythm strips.
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a high-volume or trauma-level acute care environment.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to varying schedules, including weekends, holidays, and call shifts.
