Key Responsibilities

• Contribute professional and clinical knowledge as a member of the interdisciplinary care team in the provision and management of patient care
• Provide nursing care for general medical/surgical patients, including post-operative patients requiring overnight stays
• Care for patients undergoing or recovering from procedures such as prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgeries, and thyroidectomy
• Administer drips including Heparin in accordance with facility protocols
• May be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience required
• Active Iowa RN license or compact nursing license (must reflect Active status on Nursys)
• Active BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates also accepted)
• Active NIHSS certification required
• Valid Driver's License required
• Completed Skills Checklist specific to Med Surg/Telemetry required
• One Supervisory Reference Form completed within the last two years required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver's license address)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC EMR
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Experience caring for post-operative surgical patients in an acute care setting
