Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for assigned patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards.
  • Deliver and oversee the quality of nursing services provided by self and others under their direction.
  • Utilize specialized nursing knowledge, judgment, and skills to assess patient data and provide care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of each patient.
  • Care for Medical Surgical and Telemetry patients, including those with stroke diagnoses, as part of regular unit assignments.
  • Accept Telemetry patient assignments as needed based on unit demands.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with stroke patients (must be reflected on resume).
  • Active Maryland RN license (Nursys verification must be less than 30 days old).
  • Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • NIHSS Certification required; must be willing to obtain within 48 hours if offered.
  • Must be willing to obtain mRs/SIREN Certification within 48 hours if offered.
  • COVID vaccination required; declinations are not accepted.
  • Must be available to work the facility's schedule without scheduling restrictions.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in an acute care facility with high admission and emergency volume.
  • Familiarity with stroke protocols and neurological assessment tools.
