Travel Nurse RN - Medical Intensive Care Unit - $1,738 per week in Nashville, TN

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Active RN License ACLS BLS ICU Experience Description: The unit has 31 beds. Patient ratios are typically 2:1, with possible variations of 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity and staffing. Unit secretaries are staffed during the dayshift. An occasional nurse extern may work as a tech. Equipment includes ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000. The documentation system used is Meditech. Scheduling requires a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per schedule. Schedules are designed in 4-week increments. Self-scheduling is allowed to an extent, with the manager balancing shifts as needed. Contract labor is the first to float when staffing needs arise. If necessary, contract labor is expected to float to medical/surgical units and take assignments. Nurses are expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members. Advanced skills required include insertion of central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions. The dress code is navy scrubs, tops, and bottoms.
