Key Responsibilities of the Travel MICU RN:
- Provide continuous, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill medical patients
- Monitor hemodynamics, manage ventilators, drips, and advanced life-support equipment
- Identify and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, and care plans
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR
Requirements of the Travel MICU RN:
- Active Louisiana RN license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- BLS and ACLS required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical ICU experience
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
