Ability to provide end-of-life care.
Description:
The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical and Oncology ICU.
The unit cares for patients with complex needs, including adult respiratory distress syndrome, multi-system organ failure, septic shock, GI bleeding, complicated pregnancy, oncology, renal failure, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
This role emphasizes family-centered care, especially for patients requiring transplant services.
Travelers should be comfortable with high-acuity patients and end-of-life scenarios.
The unit maintains patient ratios of 1:2.
Floating may occur within the hospital to acute care units.
An interdisciplinary support team is available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services.
Shifts will include weekend requirements.
Candidates should possess experience in chemotherapy administration and ventilator management.
Prior experience in medical ICU settings is strongly preferred.
