Job Opportunity – Medical ICU (MICU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights or nights only); 2:1 patient ratio; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on department needs
Highlights:
24-bed Medical ICU with a daily census of 23 patients caring for hemodynamically compromised adult and geriatric populations
Complex case mix including oncologic emergencies, ARDS, COPD, sepsis, GI bleeds, drug overdoses, and autoimmune disorders
Epic EMR with 72 hours of orientation; extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Two pre-approved time-off periods available during contract
Rotating shift schedule offers flexibility based on unit staffing priorities
Requirements:
Current Ohio RN license or active Compact license at time of submission
Minimum 2 years of recent, acute care Medical ICU experience (must be current within the last 12 months)
Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Epic charting system experience required
Proficiency with ventilator management, IV starts, titrating vasoactive/cardiac drips, arterial line management, and continuous IV sedation
Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, blood product administration, and central line management
Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
