Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights or nights only). Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on department needs. Weekend coverage varies based on unit requirements.
Highlights:
- 24-bed Medical ICU caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex, hemodynamically compromised conditions
- Daily census of approximately 23 patients with diagnoses including oncologic emergencies, COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, GI bleeds, sepsis, and autoimmune disorders
- Advanced treatment modalities including mechanical ventilation, CRRT (NxStage machines), pulmonary artery catheters, arterial pressure monitoring, chemotherapy administration, and plasmapheresis
- Epic electronic medical records system required
- 72-hour comprehensive orientation with interdisciplinary support including interpretation services
- Two pre-approved periods of time off available during assignment
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of current acute care experience in Medical ICU or critical care specialty
- Must have worked consistently in specialty within the last 12 months
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Epic charting system experience required
- Proficiency with ventilator management, IV starts, arterial line management, central line care, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, CRRT, and blood product administration
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, procedural sedation, and management of multi-system organ dysfunction
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)
- Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers not eligible for this assignment
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
