Schedule: 12-hour rotating days/nights schedule. Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs. If accepting a rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both.
Highlights:
- 24-bed Medical ICU caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex, hemodynamically compromised conditions
- Advanced patient population including oncologic emergencies, COPD, ARDS, sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeds, and neuromuscular diseases
- Extensive experience with mechanical ventilation, CRRT (NxStage machines), pulmonary artery catheter placement, arterial pressure monitoring, and central venous catheters
- Epic electronic medical records system required
- 72 hours of orientation provided; first-time travelers welcome
- Two pre-approved time off requests available per contract
Requirements:
- Current, active acute care experience in Medical ICU or critical care setting within the last 12 months
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Epic charting system experience required
- Proficiency with mechanical ventilation, IV starts, arterial line management, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
- Experience with advanced procedures including CRRT, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, EVD management, and continuous IV sedation
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)
- Willingness to complete urgent Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
