Travel Nurse RN - Medical Intensive Care Unit - $2,437 per week in Salem, MA

Job Title: RN MICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 PM - 07:30 AM) Experience: 2+ years of continuous MICU experience required License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS & ACLS Must-Have: - Ability to read telemetry strips - Experience in high-acuity patient settings - Availability for floating to Medical/Surgical units Description: This position requires working in a Level III Trauma Center within an Intensive Care Unit. The unit consists of 20 beds dedicated to medical and surgical patients. We care for a diverse adult patient population with various diagnoses including substance abuse, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. Both attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day. Experienced nurses are expected to handle a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity patients. When floated to other Medical/Surgical areas, the ratio may adjust to 1:4 or 1:5. Telemetry competency is required as part of this role. Shifts will include rotating between day and night positions. This is a critical role in providing care to patients with complex and acute medical needs. Nurses must be adaptable and prepared for floating responsibilities as needed.
