Travel Nurse RN - Medical Intensive Care Unit - $2,437 per week in Salem, MA

Job Title: RN MICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating (Days, Evenings, Nights) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years in Adult ICU License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS Must-Have: 2 years of continuous MICU experience required. Ability to read telemetry strips is a must. Description: This position is for a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) nurse. The MICU consists of 20 beds and cares for a wide range of adult patients. Common diagnoses include substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. Medical staff including attendings and residents are present in the unit 24 hours a day. Experience in Adult ICU for 2 years is mandatory, with a preference for continuous work experience in a MICU setting. Floating to other medical/surgical units is required, with a patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients. When floated to other medical/surgical areas, the patient ratio may be 1:4 or 1:5. Telemetry competency is required. Shifts may rotate between a variety of daytime hours when needed. Night shift positions will not rotate. The electronic medical record system utilized is EPIC.
