Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $1,466 per week in Austin, TX

Job Title: RN - Med Surg Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Acute care experience, preferably in med-surg. Flexibility with schedule. Description: CONTRACT RN - MED SURG, NIGHT SHIFT, 12-HOUR SHIFTS. No on-call requirements. This position requires strong time management skills and a team-oriented personality. The unit consists of 32 beds and has a staff of 50 members. Patient ratios are 1:5 or 1:6 during the day and 1:6 or 1:7 at night. The unit is equipped with PCAs, on-Q pumps, Hoyer lifts, traction equipment, and wound vacs. EMR system used is Meditech. Typical procedures include neurosurgeries (kyphoplasty, decompression, laminectomy), fracture repairs, general surgeries, bariatric surgeries (gastric sleeve), bladder sling surgeries, and hysterectomies. Candidates will be preferred who have experience with Meditech charting and nursing skills such as NGT tube placement, IV placement, and Foley management.
