The unit has a daily census of 24 patients. The unit accepts first-time travelers. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics. Common patient diagnoses include end-stage renal disease, diabetic complications, and various medical-surgical diagnoses. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and other support services. Travelers may be required to float to similar units based on facility needs. Isolation precautions and non-invasive airway management skills are necessary. Weekend coverage is required. The unit consists of 24 beds. Travelers will receive brief orientation upon arrival.
