Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $1,619 per week in Tulsa, OK

The shift is nights, and the schedule is three 12-hour shifts weekly. The nurse will be responsible for managing a patient ratio of 6:1. Experience in charting using the specified system is required. Previous charge experience is preferred. Community hospital experience is preferred as well as LTAC and trauma experience. There will be opportunities to float to like units when needed. The nurse will be responsible for various patient care skills, including but not limited to: Accessing and managing ports. Blood product administration. Central line blood draws. Chest tube management. Monitoring chemotherapy. Administration of high flow nasal cannula. Interpretation of arterial blood gases. Isolation precautions and PPE compliance. Management of dysrhythmias. Phlebotomy and IV care. Care and management for feeding tubes. Post-procedural care for angiograms and MI patients. Renal failure management and hemodialysis pre/post care. Wound care, including the use of wound vacs. The facility emphasizes interdisciplinary support with services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. The average daily census is 24 patients across 24 beds. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. This is a general medical/surgical acute care unit. Patients may have various diagnoses, and a shorter length of stay is typical. The nurse will need to adhere to the unit protocols and care guidelines.
