Description:
Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Nursing Process for patients in different age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Documents thoroughly as care is delivered, following regulatory and hospital requirements.
Assumes responsibility for clinical competencies and professional development of self and others.
Practices in a clinical environment through application of theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Utilizes good judgment, demonstrates patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times.
Ability to work in a busy, stressful work environment where practices may change.
Computer skills required include Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software.
Possesses strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage workload expectations.
Demonstrates effective interpersonal verbal communication and advanced math skills.
Exhibits creativity, problem analysis, teamwork, and decision-making skills.
Key Qualifications:
Previous charge experience preferred.
Experience managing a patient ratio of 1:6.
Familiarity with accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and respiratory therapies.
Experience with patient care activities such as bowel obstruction management and post-operative care.
Knowledge of isolation precautions and emergency response protocols.
Patient Diagnoses Include:
Sepsis, CIWA, confusion, AMS, COPD, post-operative cares, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, and isolation situations with medical indications.
Interdisciplinary support includes various teams such as IV therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, and social services.
Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Flexibility to cover weekend shifts as needed.
