Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, NIH preferred, CPI preferred Must-Have: Strong assessment skills Experience with IV Pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing cabinets Description: This is a medical-surgical nursing position. The unit has 25 beds and the patient-to-nurse ratio is 5-6:1 during the day and 6:1 at night. The unit is staffed with a unit secretary and 2-3 Patient Care Technicians during the day. At night, there are 2-3 Patient Care Technicians available. Equipment used on the unit includes Sara Steady, Wound Vac, Tele Health, Virtual Sitter equipment, and remote telemetry. The documentation system utilized is Meditech. Scheduling includes every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday), with weekdays being flexible. Floating may occur, primarily between medical-surgical units. Patient experience requirements include BSSR and hourly rounding. Advanced skills performed on the unit include IV and Foley catheter placement. The required uniform is black or royal blue scrubs.
