Description: The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. The role requires practicing in a clinical environment supported by a shared governance model. The framework for practice is guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice and research. All RN Clinical Nurses must uphold the practice of nursing and implement the scope of practice and code of ethics standards. As a member of the patient services team, individuals uphold the voice of the patient and support service excellence goals. Teamwork and Collaboration: Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care. Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration to promote the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members. Participates in performance improvement and supports an inclusive clinical environment. Actsively participates in shared governance at all levels in the system. Professional Development and Initiative: Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required education. Serves as a preceptor or mentor for professional nurses and other staff or students. Models the professional practice of nursing and promotes a healthy work environment. Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Promotes evidence-based practice and nursing research. Upholds all organizational policies and procedures as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
