Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 PM - 07:15 AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test Must-Have: Ability to float to different units or facilities as needed Description: We are seeking nurses to join our post-surgical care unit. Teamwork is always supported and acknowledged among the staff. There is excellent communication and relationships with healthcare providers, including surgical residents who assist in covering most surgeons 24 hours a day. Candidates will be interviewed by the clinical team prior to being presented for the position. The unit has a capacity of 32 beds and serves a diverse population. Common patient diagnoses include bowel obstruction, wound infection, gastrointestinal cancers, and morbid obesity. Post-operative surgical care is provided to general surgery patients. Occasionally, the unit cares for overflow medical and surgical patients from other parts of the facility. Patients must be hemodynamically stable and do not require mechanical ventilation. The age range of patients served is from young adults to late adults (18 - 60+). The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6. Our core staffing plan includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, patient care technicians, and nurse interns. An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team.
