Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $1,815 per week in Nashville, TN

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Surg Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS certification Must-Have: Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes. Description: The unit has 20 beds with a patient ratio of 6:1. Tech support is available on both day and night shifts. Unit secretary is present from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Key equipment includes IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and communication technology. The documentation system used is Meditech. Scheduling requires three 12-hour shifts per week, including two weekends (four shifts) within a four-week schedule. Contract labor is the first to float, with a rotation policy for multiple staff scheduled. Expected patient experience includes providing attentive and compassionate care to patients and their families. Bedside shift report is utilized, and staff should be able to make personal connections with patients and include them in their care plan. The unit is certified in Comprehensive Stroke care and has received recognition as an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center and a Certified Chest Pain Center.
