Previous Registered Nursing experience preferred.

Description:
The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process.
Accepts responsibility for the direction of co-workers and delegation of role-appropriate tasks in the implementation of care.
Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Essential Job Functions:
Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care of each patient according to the nursing process.
Provides quality care based on assessment needs and an established plan of care/pathway.
Provides education for the patient and family/significant other from admission through the discharge process.
Ensures thorough, concise, accurate, and legible documentation of the nursing process/pathway.
Notifies the physician of pertinent observations and changes in the status of the patient.
Administers medications and performs treatments in an accurate and safe manner.
Implements physician orders as written.
Assures equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care, reporting malfunctions to the proper department.
Physical Capacity Demand:
Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Position may require frequent patient handling activity.
