Job OverviewWe are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) with Medical-Surgical experience for a contract assignment at a leading academic medical center in New York City. This opportunity is open to both local and travel nurses.
The RN will provide safe, high-quality, evidence-based care to adult Medical-Surgical patients while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical patients.
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
- Monitor patient conditions and promptly respond to changes in clinical status.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR.
- Follow hospital policies related to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement.
- Participate in bedside rounding and interdisciplinary care planning.
Required Qualifications- Active New York State RN License
- BLS Certification
- BSN Required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical experience
- Epic EMR experience highly preferred
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred for travel candidates (not required for local candidates)
Education- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required
