We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse for a 13-week night-shift contract. The unit is a 25-bed medical-surgical floor with a diverse patient population, with a strong focus on stroke care.
Patient Population & Responsibilities:
Stroke patients, including patients who do not require TPA
Comfort care and hospice patients
Post-operative patients, including amputations
Drains, chest tubes, and feeding tubes
Heparin drips
Wound care
Altered mental status
CIWA patients
AKI and dialysis patients
COPD exacerbations
Occasional total-care patients
Requirements
2+ years of Med/Surg experience
Current Illinois RN License
Current BLS/CPR
ACLS required
NIHSS required
Stroke-certified RN preferred
Must be able to work 3×12-hour shifts
Must be available every other weekend and holiday
Must be flexible with the unit's patient population and acuity
