Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $1,912 per week in Battle Creek, MI

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: Up to 26 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: - Travel experience strongly preferred - Ability to work with a variety of staff including RNs, LPNs, and Techs - Willingness to float to other units - Ability to handle patient surges and increased patient ratios Description: The Medical Surgical unit is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse. This unit has a primary focus on the constant reassessment of patients' readiness for discharge. The nursing team will typically care for a mix of medical patients. The patient ratio during the day typically runs 1:4-5. If a combination RN/LPN team is present, the ratio may increase to 1:7. Nurses will be responsible for admitting and discharging patients rapidly. No holiday requests will be accepted, but dates may be discussed with the manager for possible accommodations. Staffing includes a mix of RNs, LPNs, and Techs. Nurses will work every other weekend and may float to other Medical Surgical areas as needed. Preferred qualifications include experience with high patient turnover and excellent prioritization skills. Candidates must demonstrate strong customer service skills and enjoy a busy work environment. Additional responsibilities include managing various patient care tasks, including emergency response and patient education. The unit also collaborates with multiple disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care.
