Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $1,930 per week in Fishersville, VA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Pending license not accepted Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: First-timers accepted Weekend requirement: Every other weekend Description: This position requires working an AM shift along with a holiday rotation. Staff is required to participate in self-scheduling with groups. Groups will be rotated each scheduling period, which is weekly. Staff must work one summer and one winter holiday as part of the holiday rotation. This position may require floating to cover staffing needs. On the first day, the RN will complete necessary assessments and will not start working until the following shift. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:6. Experience with patient ratios of 6 is required. Charting system experience with Meditech is preferred. This unit focuses on innovative nursing practice and the adoption of new technologies. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics with a daily census of approximately 30. Common patient diagnoses include cellulitis, pneumonia, renal failure, and others. This role includes critical nursing skills such as managing ports, central line blood draws, and wound care. Prior charge experience is preferred.
