It comprises a 122-bed acute care facility. The team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical, and outpatient services. Job Summary: The professional functions of a Registered Nurse include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The RN will function as a Scrub Technician when needed. This role involves coordinating, managing, providing, and delegating patient care. The RN is responsible for meeting established Standards of Nursing Practice, while promoting cooperation among the healthcare team. Essential Functions: Assure patients' personal needs are met. Assist in reducing the noise level of the nursing unit. Participate in Lean Daily Management practices. Demonstrate a commitment to co-workers. Work as a team to assure all patients have their needs met. Maintain patient, co-worker, and hospital privacy. Documentation must be clear, concise, and legible. Deliver a clear, concise report. Complete assigned quality monitors as directed by the department manager. Follow infection control guidelines. Obtain history/physical assessment according to specific nursing protocols for all age groups. Review medical history, physical examination, and available assessment data. Identify abnormal diagnostic data and report to the appropriate person. Provide information needed to begin discharge planning in a timely manner, and to the appropriate personnel. Recognize signs and symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress or other impending emergencies. Demonstrate knowledge and ability to function effectively in emergency situations. Accurately administer and chart medications according to hospital policies and procedures while adhering to patients' rights. Implement and/or assist others in the implementation and documentation of planned education. Assess patients' educational needs. Assist in the development and education of new staff members. Attend and participate in staff meetings. Complete education, training, and competencies for department-specific skills. Successfully adapt to changes in the unit, environment, and workflow. Ensure all patient charge items are charged and documented correctly. Utilize department resources appropriately. Minimize incidental overtime. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
