Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting. The unit has 36 beds. The patient population includes individuals with CHF, COPD, ESRD, pneumonia, renal failure, sickle cell crisis, orthopedic surgery, bariatric surgery, altered mental status, and sepsis. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 6:1 with LPN support and 12:1 with CNA support. Charge nurse and nurse aides are available on the unit. There is a hospitalist on-site 24/7. Remote telemetry monitoring is also available. The environment is conducive to teamwork and involves consultation with specialty teams as needed. The charting system used is MEDITECH. White tops and hunter green pants are the required scrub colors. Candidates should be prepared to accommodate weekend shifts and holiday responsibilities.
