Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 or 18 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years, experience in a level 1 or 2 preferred License: Active state RN license or compact license Certifications: BLS, EKG tele competency assessment Must-Have: Must be able to pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment. Must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips. Experience with EPIC is required. Must be available to work a minimum of every other holiday and every other weekend. Travel experience is preferred. Description: The position is for a medical surgical unit concentrating on Gynecology, Oncology, and Urogynecology. Positions are available for both 36 or 48 hours per week. The targeted patient ratio is 1:6. The unit may participate in a team nursing model where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs partner to care for a group of patients. This model aims to improve both the workload and patient care. Nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing depending on the unit's needs. Floating may occur based on staffing needs, and travelers will float first at the manager's discretion. The candidate may be assigned to other units based on skills and unit census. The unit manages 29 beds with a focus on various medical-surgical diagnoses, including behavioral health, hematology, and surgical patients. The unit operates with supportive interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Candidates must be comfortable floating based on unit needs, with no restrictions or special requests. References are not required for this position.
