Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Acute Care (Medical Surgical) Duration: 26 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Experience: 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS Must-Have: 1 year experience required with 1 travel assignment Description: Strict 75-mile radius from the traveler's driver's license address to hospital. Please ensure the address submitted is accurate and valid. Experience required: 1 year with at least 1 travel assignment. The unit has a total of 44 beds and 40 staff members. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both days and nights. Electronic medical record system is Meditech; experience preferred but not required. Nurse aides are available; ratios for CNAs are generally 1:8 to 1:10. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. Holidays are required as needed. Scrub color is Caribbean Blue. There is telemetry available but monitored on a different unit. Floating may occur to other acute care and cardiac units for medical care or acute care patient holds. General orientation lasts 1 week, which includes EMR training. Floor-specific orientation lasts 2 days. The area is a population of around 80,000. It is located 175 miles from a major city. Housing options are available and have been visited for safety and cleanliness. Cancellation policy stipulates 12 hours every 2 weeks. Charting system used is MEDITECH. A BSN degree is not required. License submission is necessary. The care setting is acute care. Shift notes indicate shifts run from 7 AM to 7 PM, with every other weekend required. Required certifications are BLS (AHA) and NIHSS.
