Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS required; PALS preferred Must-Have: Candidates without BLS certification will not be considered for the role. Candidates must have great communication skills. Description: The unit has a capacity of 30 beds, with the potential to increase to 36. The staff team consists of 45 employees, including 1 clinical coordinator and 5 RNs on the day shift, along with 2 techs and 1 unit secretary. During night shifts, there are 5 RNs and 2 techs. Patient ratios are maintained at 1:5 or 1:6. Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and SCDs. The electronic medical records system utilized is Meditech. Typical procedures performed on this unit include post-operative orthopedic and spine surgical care, as well as care for podiatry patients. The best personality fit is a team player with a positive attitude and strong patient advocacy skills. The dress code requires navy blue and white scrubs, and hoodies, pull-overs, and t-shirts are not permitted. The unit has received recognition as a Unit of Distinction and is certified for hip and knee replacements. It ranks 16th out of 2,000 medical/surgical units based on top patient experience scores measured through HCAHPS.
