The unit has 36 beds and a staff of 55 employees. The staffing consists of a clinical coordinator, several RNs, techs, and a unit secretary. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6. Typical equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and SCDs. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Candidates should be familiar with post-operative patients. Competence in dressing changes, wound care, and drain management is required. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude. Strong patient advocacy is essential for this role. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Dress code includes navy blue scrubs and a white top; hoodies, pull-overs, and t-shirts are not allowed. The unit has received top patient experience scores measured through patient satisfaction surveys.
