Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Active License Required Certifications: BLS, IV Certification Required Must-Have: Med-Surg Experience Description: 2 years of experience in a hospital setting is required. Active nursing license must be provided with application. BLS certification is required. IV certification is also mandatory. Patient to nurse ratios are typically 1:6, with occasional 1:7 during surges. Unit staffing includes secretaries and nursing assistants on both shifts. Telemetry equipment is utilized on the unit. The documentation system used is Meditech Expanse. Nurses are expected to work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, with every other weekend and rotating holidays. Floating to the same level of care may be required. Patient experience requirements include bedside shift report, hourly safety rounding, and making personal connections with patients. Advanced skills necessary include performing wound care, drain management, Foley insertion, central line dressing changes, telemetry monitoring, and performing EKGs as needed. The dress code requires scrubs of any color. Self-scheduling is available, with leadership overseeing any necessary adjustments to balance the schedule.
