We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in the Surgery Trauma Unit in Atlanta, GA. This is a high-acuity Medical/Surgical unit caring for patients with traumatic injuries and complex surgical conditions. The ideal candidate is confident in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong clinical judgment, and is committed to providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Medical/Surgical and Trauma patients.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
- Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate changes to the healthcare team.
- Care for patients with traumatic injuries, including post-operative surgical cases, gunshot wounds, spinal cord injuries, quadriplegia, and paraplegia.
- Accurately document patient care using Epic electronic medical records (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing support staff, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Float to other appropriate units as needed based on hospital staffing requirements.
