This role involves providing comprehensive care to patients with a mix of diagnoses and acuity levels, including respiratory issues, sepsis, and multiple comorbidities. Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Med Surg- Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocol; monitor effectiveness and side-effects
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers
Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Med Surg- Current RN License in the state of TX or compact license
- Current BLS certification (AHA only)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA only)
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
- 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
