Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,036 per week in Renton, WA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: MedSurg Float Duration: 11 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - At least 2 years of experience in MedSurg nursing - Ability to recognize lethal rhythms and respond appropriately Description: The unit has 38 beds, with a capacity to max out at 42 beds with semi-private rooms. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 for both day and night shifts. Charge nurses oversee staffing and patient care. Patient conditions will include general surgery patients such as appendectomies, fractures, GI, Gynecology, and Vascular cases. The Registered Nurses are not required to titrate drips. Common drips include Heparin per protocol. Patient Care Assistants (PCA) are available on the unit, with a ratio of 1:8-15 depending on staffing. PCAs are trained to perform phlebotomy. Tele monitoring is available with monitor technicians on site. Travelers may be required to float to other surgical or MedSurg units as necessary. There is a rare need for team nursing in the Covid Medical unit. On average, 20-30 MedSurg patients may be housed daily in the Emergency Department. The dress code for the unit is royal blue scrubs. The cancellation policy allows for one shift per two-week period. The charting system used is EPIC.
