Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,041 per week in Bismarck, ND

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current and valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS Certification Required Must-Have: Surgical experience, post-operative care, early ambulation experience Description: This position is in a medical surgical department with 30 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 at night. Common diagnoses and patient types include total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, urology procedures, and abdominal surgeries such as laparoscopic appendectomies and bowel resections. Bariatric patients and medical overflow cases are also common. Experience with hemo hemovacs, JP drains, colostomies, and titrating occasional heparin drips is preferred. Registered Nurses are not required to read telemetry strips, as a monitor technician is available to interpret them. Charge nurses are present on each shift and may take a low acuity assignment. Patient care technicians are available with a ratio of 1:12. Registered Nurses are expected to perform bedside shift reporting. Floating to medical and telemetry units is required when necessary. Weekend and holiday shifts will be scheduled as needed. Self-scheduling options may be considered based on unit needs. A supportive and collaborative culture exists within the team.
