Position: Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (RN – Med Surg)
Location: Mason City
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 3×12
Experience Required: 2 Years
Weekly Pay:$2050 to $2250
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and post-surgical conditions
Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and other prescribed treatments
Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and communicate updates to physicians and the healthcare team
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies
Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting recovery and positive clinical outcomes
Requirements
Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
Current BLS Certification required
ACLS Certification preferred or required by facility
Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles, medication administration, and patient assessment
Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced acute care environment
